Our Business and Supply Chains

Eltham Man and Van provides local and regional moving, transport, and related services. Our activities rely on a network of suppliers and subcontractors, including vehicle hire and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, packaging suppliers, and occasional labour agencies. We understand that modern slavery can occur in any sector and geography, and we are committed to vigilance in our own operations and with those who work with us.

Zero-Tolerance Policy

We have a clear zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. This means we will not knowingly engage with, support, or profit from any organisation or individual involved in such practices. Any breach or suspected breach of this policy is treated seriously and may result in termination of contracts or working relationships, as well as reporting to relevant authorities where appropriate.

All employees, casual workers, and contractors working for or on behalf of Eltham Man and Van are expected to uphold this policy and act ethically, with integrity, and in compliance with applicable laws relating to modern slavery and human rights.

Supplier Standards and Audits

We seek to work only with suppliers and subcontractors who share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. As part of our supplier selection and ongoing management, we:

Request confirmation from key suppliers that they comply with all relevant modern slavery and human trafficking legislation and maintain appropriate internal controls. Expect suppliers to communicate the same standards to their own supply chains. Reserve the right to conduct proportionate checks, including document reviews and on-site visits where appropriate, to verify compliance.

Where a risk is identified, we will work with the supplier to address the issue. If effective remediation is not possible or a supplier is unwilling to cooperate, we will consider ending the business relationship.

Training, Awareness, and Responsibilities

Management at Eltham Man and Van is responsible for ensuring that this statement and the underlying policy are implemented and understood across the business. Relevant staff involved in procurement, recruitment, and operations are made aware of the risks of modern slavery and how to identify warning signs when engaging suppliers or subcontractors.

We encourage a culture where concerns can be raised openly and without fear of retaliation. Everyone working for or with us has a responsibility to remain alert to the risks of modern slavery and to report any concerns at the earliest opportunity.

Reporting Channels

We provide internal reporting routes for employees, workers, and contractors who suspect that modern slavery or human trafficking may be taking place in our business or supply chains. Concerns can be raised to line managers or senior management. Reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and, where possible, confidentiality will be respected.

No individual who raises a concern in good faith will suffer any form of detrimental treatment as a result of reporting their suspicions. We will investigate all credible reports and, where necessary, take appropriate action, including notifying relevant authorities.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

Eltham Man and Van is committed to continuous improvement in identifying and managing modern slavery risks. We review our policies, controls, and supplier engagement processes regularly to ensure they remain effective and proportionate to our size and risk profile.
